THE WAFL season resumes with all four games on Saturday in Round 8 including the battle of two on-fire teams Peel Thunder and South Fremantle along with a clash between the Sullivan Logistics Stadium co-tenants.
Following last week's break for the State game against the SANFL at Optus Stadium, the WAFL season gets back up and running this Saturday beginning with the West Coast Eagles playing Claremont at Mineral Resources Park.
The Eagles are looking for a second win of the season while the Tigers will be out to build some momentum after a last up win against Perth.
Next up is two teams on winning runs and 5-1 records clashing at Lane Group Stadium in Mandurah when Peel Thunder plays host to South Fremantle.
Peel remains in top spot by percentage having won four straight while South Fremantle lost in Round 1 but has won all five games since to have the chance to move into first position with a win on Saturday.
South Fremantle defender Toby McQuilkin is happy with how things are coming together for the Bulldogs but is fully aware of the challenge Peel presents.
"It's been a really good start for us. We had a bit of a slip up to start off in Round 1 but since then we've found our feet and found some pretty good form so it's been good up until this point," McQuilkin said.
"Now this week is a good test against Peel and it's always a different one when you come up against them, you just don’t know who's playing and who's in and who's out.
"So we more or less just focus on us and we'll prepare like that throughout the week, and obviously it's going to be a big one on the weekend."
Next up on Saturday will see the co-tenants of Sullivan Logistics Stadium meet when East Perth plays Subiaco.
The Royals have the chance to claim top spot with a win depending on other results with the Lions attempting to snap a three-game losing slide.
Reigning premiers East Fremantle did lose a thriller to East Perth two weeks ago ahead of playing Perth at Revo Fitness Stadium with the Sharks currently fifth at 3-3 and the Demons ninth at 2-4.
Last up on Saturday afternoon is at Steel Blue Oval in what should be a tantalising match up with Swan Districts at home to West Perth.
Swans come into the game in sixth spot at 2-4 and the Falcons fourth at 3-3 so it's a crucial game in the context of the season for both teams.
