PEEL Thunder and East Perth won to remain in the top two spots, reigning premiers East Fremantle won a fifth straight and Claremont broke back into the top five in the Round 19 WAFL action on Saturday.

All five Round 19 matches took place on Saturday and by the end of it, Peel and East Perth are further clear in the top two spots only separated by percentage with East Fremantle just two points out of third spot, and Claremont now two points clear in fifth in front of South Fremantle.

First up on Saturday saw East Perth stay in touch of top spot and further consolidate second with the 17.16 (118) to 7.9 (51) win against the West Coast Eagles at Mineral Resources Park.

Tom Medhat, Christian Ameduri and Jayden Peak all kicked three goals for the Royals with Stan Wright collecting 32 possessions. Jack Petruccelle had 23 disposals for the Eagles.

Subiaco then made it 15 of the last 16 against Perth with the 16.4 (100) to 8.8 (56) victory at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.

Ryan Borchet and Ben Sokol kicked three goals each for the Lions and Liam Hickmott racked up 30 disposals. Aaron Clarke kicked four goals for Perth with Charlie Constable racking up 39 touches and Corey Byrne 35.

Claremont then moved into fifth position with seven wins from the last nine matches with the 11.17 (83) to 6.17 (53) win over the bottom placed West Perth at Revo Fitness Stadium.

Jye Bolton finished with 28 possessions and two goals for the Tigers, and fellow Sandover Medallist Bailey Rogers 27 touches and two goals. Shane Nelson had 28 touches for the Falcons and Luke Meadows 27.

Peel Thunder then consolidated top spot with the 10.11 (71) to 9.7 (61) win over the now sixth placed South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

Taj Wyburd kicked three goals for Peel and Will Brodie racked up 43 possessions, Neil Erasmus 35 and James Aish 29. Ed Graham kicked three goals for the Bulldogs with Tom Blechynden and Glenn Byron finishing with 26 touches.

The one match up this round featuring two top five teams took place on neutral turf at Pentanet Stadium and it was reigning premiers East Fremantle winning a fifth straight beating Swan Districts 15.10 (100) to 9.10 (64).

Cody Leggett returned to kick four goals and Kyle Baskerville had 27 possessions. Luke Kelly kicked three goals for Swans while Aidan Clarke and Jesse Turner both had 28 disposals.
