WA’s most talented umpires have been recognised as part of the 2024 Junior Umpire Awards Nights held in September.
The awards range from peer-voted cultural honours to those recognising outstanding parental support. The awards also feature the most improved and best umpires in various disciplines such as field, boundary and goal umpiring within their junior umpiring club.
WAFC Junior Umpiring Coordinator Courtney Gibson said the awards night promotes the pathway for aspiring umpires and highlights the importance of maintaining a positive and thriving club culture.
“These awards celebrate the contributions umpires make on and off the field in creating a safe and supportive environment,” Gibson said.
“This acknowledgment motivates umpires to continuously improve their craft and highlights the development of great people in the process.
“This year's winners have stood out in their junior umpiring groups due to their dedication, commitment, and support.
“Some excelled because of their exceptional umpiring skills and consistent high performance throughout the season, while others were recognised for their contributions off the field, demonstrating support and encouragement to their peers.”
