Subiaco 5.10 (40) d Swan Districts 3.1 (19)

The Lions still hold onto first place in the women’s competition, with an absurd percentage of 263%. One of two teams still yet to lose a game, Subiaco were led again by their big three as Paige Sheppard (23 disposals), Lisa Steane (23 disposals, five tackles) and Krstel Petrevski (21 disposals) all won plenty of the football. Young gun Layla Quinn-Schofield gathered 17 disposals and laid 11 tackles, while 19-year-old Charlotte Tompkin booted two goals. Swan Districts have been the third best team all year but were unable to defeat either of the top two sides, despite an impressive performance in this game from Isabella Edgley (24 disposals).

South Fremantle 1.8 (14) d West Perth 1.4 (10)

A defensive scrap led to just two goals from 14 scoring shots at Fremantle Oval as the Bulldogs upset the Falcons. Bailey Hunt continued her superb season with 28 disposals and five marks, while Tahleah Mulder gathered 23 touches and laid six tackles. Zoe Huggett was their only goalkicker, giving her 14 for the year, tied for the most in the competition, while West Perth’s goalkicker was 16-year-old Lexi Strachan, giving her goals in each of her last five outings, as she also amassed 14 disposals and laid five tackles. Madison Dodd and Megan Norbury each won plenty of the football but to no avail for the visiting side.

Claremont 8.10 (58) d Peel Thunder 2.5 (17)

The other undefeated team through 10 rounds, Claremont, ran out 41-point winners off the back of multiple goals from Rachel Ortlepp, Ella Gilbey and Laura Cinanni. Matilda Sergeant collected 25 disposals and laid seven tackles, while Sarah Viney also won 25 touches. Ball-winning maestro Chloe Wrigley earned 21 disposals, as did Charlie Fletcher, each laying eight tackles for Peel, who kicked just two goals for the game through Ebony Dawson and 18-year-old Lucy Kane in her WAFLW debut.

East Fremantle 4.10 (34) d Perth 3.2 (20)

The Sharks remained within reach of the top four after defeating the Demons at home on Sunday by 14 points. Despite former St Kilda player Isabella Shannon winning 32 disposals and taking five marks to add to her stellar season, no other player collected more than 18 touches.

Eighteen-year-old Taya Strickland kicked two goals, giving her seven total through five matches, and at least one in each game this season. East Fremantle moved to just a game shy of the top four thanks to four individual goalkickers and another fantastic performance from young-gun Noa McNaughton.
