WAFLW Round 10 SummaryTuesday, June 17, 2025 - 9:09 AM

Perth created history by winning its first WAFLW match as Subiaco’s stunning season continued as Round 11 was completed in the WAFLW.

Subiaco 5.10 (40) v East Fremantle 4.4 (28)

The ladder-leaders were pushed on Friday night by the Sharks who kicked three goals in the third term to trail by just seven points heading into the final quarter, but the Lions proved too strong in the end.

Subiaco’s big three of Paige Sheppard (31 disposals), Krstel Petrevski (23 disposals) and Lisa Steane (20 disposals, eight tackles) all performed well, while Aimee Schmidt and Hayley Corlett were also amongst the best.

Sarah Wielstra was the best for East Fremantle, finishing with two goals and six marks from 10 disposals, while young-gun Noa McNaughton fought hard as well, ending with 12 disposals and nine tackles.

Peel Thunder 5.9 (39) v East Perth 1.7 (13)

The Thunder picked up their third win of the season on Saturday afternoon against the Royals, led by competition-leading possession winner Chloe Wrigley’s 26 disposals.

Ebony and Holly Bilcich each combined to post 45 disposals and Holly booted a goal, while Ebony Dawson and Tayla Cooper also impressed.

East Perth managed just one goal for the day, but Layla Firns and Hayley O’Donnell battled hard.

Swan Districts 8.6 (54) v West Perth 3.3 (21)

Swan Districts proved once again that they are in a tier of their own behind Subiaco and Claremont but ahead of the rest of the pack.

Taylah Edwards kicked three majors to strengthen her lead on the competitions leading goalkicker award and Kayley King booted two goals from her game-high 21 disposals.

Jaime Henry was a beast laying 15 tackles to go with 20 disposals, whilst Indiana West and Lauren Quiafe were also impressive.

Sara Riou kicked two goals for the Falcons who teeter dangerously close to falling out of the top four.

Perth 5.4 (34) v South Fremantle 3.4 (22)

The Demons, after 11 rounds, finally broke the hoodoo and won their first game of the season.

They have been close for multiple weeks, and their form finally warranted a win, on the back of three goals from Tara Strickland and 29 disposals from Jasmine Single.

Isabella Shannon, as she has been all year, was strong and Jorja Haines, Molly Warne and Natalie House all contributed to the win.

Zoe Huggett kicked her 15th goal for the season, trailing leader Taylah Edwards by two, whilst Tahleah Mulder was dominant in defeat, amassing 30 disposals and laying 13 tackles.
