Round 14 WAFL Recap - Royals with statement win over Perth, Bevan stars for FalconsTuesday, July 15, 2025 - 1:01 PM

East Perth 19.10 (124) v Boorloo 7.2 (44)

The Royals rocketed into second place on the ladder with an emphatic 80-point victory over the Demons on Saturday afternoon.

Led by Tom North (32 disposals, six marks, two goals) and Tom Medhat (22 disposals, 12 marks, four goals), East Perth booted 16 goals to five after quarter time as Perth, renamed to Boorloo throughout NAIDOC round, were unable to quell the home side.

East Perth opened the third term with back-to-back-to-back goals before piling on six consecutive majors in the final period.

North added another to his batch of superb performances this season as he attracts Sandover Medal talk, while regular names Hamish Brayshaw, Angus Scott, Stan Wright and Scott Jones all impressed.

Jonah Brooks bettered his career-best performance from last week again this round, while Sebit Kuek and Sam van Diemen added two goals each, as did Coby Burgiel with the final two goals of the game.

Matthew Taylor, Blake Schlensog and Baxter Philip gave their all for the Demons but there weren’t enough contributors for the visitors, whose percentage took a huge blow.

South Fremantle 9.11 (65) v Swan Districts 7.10 (52)

The premiership favourites were challenged in tyring conditions by Swans, who held the Bulldogs to just two second half goals, but they only kicked three in the first half themselves and left too much ground to make up.

The Black Ducks won both the inside 50s and the clearances, with their midfield racking up the football.

The four leading possession getters on the ground, Jesse Turner (34), Jye Chalcraft (33), Aidan Clarke (29) and Josh Cipro (27) were all Swans midfielders, but it didn’t translate on the scoreboard, Jackson McLachlan their only multiple goalkicker with three.

For South Fremantle it was Noah Strom who was instrumental, while Hamish Free took on two ruckmen and won.

Matthew Parker, Isiah Winder and Chad Pearson all impressed, as did Jacob Sax who is putting together a fine run of form in his young League career.

West Perth 15.11 (101) v West Coast 11.6 (72)

The Falcons won their second game from their three outings since going through a coaching change to keep their season alive again.

They sit just two games out of the top five with five games remaining.

West Perth was led from the front by Kane Bevan who continues to put together a superb season.

He produced a dominant 33-disposal, three-goal performance, while Jayden Rigoll, Aaron Black and Riley Sprigg were also among the best.

Tyler Keitel won 21 disposals and booted two goals, while Darcy Dixon added three majors and Keegan Knott two.

Jack Petruccelle has found form through the midfield in recent weeks and his 24 disposals, 10-mark game turned heads, while Tim Kelly won 27 possessions and kicked two goals alongside him.

Harvey Johnston impressed on a wing, while Orien Kerr was the best of the WAFL-listed Eagles, kicking a career-high three goals.
