We take a look at the players to watch in the New Holland WA State Country team’s clash against South Australia at Sullivan Logstics Stadium on Saturday night.
Jack Fletcher (Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault/South West)
The South West big man is coming off an excellent Nutrien Ag Country Football Championships campaign, capped off by All-Star selection and Nutrien Ag Solutions Medal as best-afield in the decider.
Fletcher is an absolute man mountain who not only impresses with his tap work, but can move well around the ground for a player of his side.

Kaidyn Fullgrabe (Cunderdin/Avon)
The former Subiaco midfielder was a worthy winner of the Jock Coleman Medal as the fairest-and-best player of the Division One competition at the recently-concluded Country Football Championships.
Fullgrabe, who plays for Cunderdin in the Avon league, is one of just four players who featured in last year’s loss to South Australia at Adelaide Oval.
His experience, which included 18 senior WAFL games and multiple Country Championship campaigns, will be vital in a new-look team.
Michael Randall (Mandurah Mustangs/Peel)
Randall has been a bit of a bonus selection for WA Country coach Craig Otto, given he only played his last senior WAFL for Perth last month.
The big-bodied midfielder, who played 69 WAFL games for Peel Thunder, East Perth and more recently Perth, is back in the Peel competition where he’s playing for Mandurah Mustangs.
Earned All-Star selection in the Country Champs and helped Peel to a grand final berth after a strong carnival in the engine-room.
It’s not his first taste of State football, having played for WA’s under-16s during his younger years.
Morgan Davies (Albany/Great Southern)
Former Claremont and East Fremantle speedster Morgan Davies was a joint-winner of the Bud Byfield Medal as the MVP of Division Two after a brilliant carnival for champions Great Southern.
Davies would’ve come close to winning the best-afield medal in the grand final as well after an impressive performance.
Will provide plenty of run and carry at Sullivan Logistics Stadium and has excellent foot skills.
Jason Carter (Eaton Boomers/South West)
Like Randall, former Docker Carter started the season in the WAFL before heading to the country where he joined Eaton Boomers in the South West.
A versatile talent who can play as a rebounding defender or ball-winning midfielder, Carter was sensational for Division One champions South West and was in the conversation to win the best-on-ground medal in the grand final win over Peel.
The 25-year-old represented WA at under-16s and under-18s levels and even played a couple of AFL games while on Fremantle’s list.
Dustin Walters (Boulder/Goldfields)
What a recruit Walters has been for Boulder, the Goldfields Football League and now WA Country.
The Victorian product has booted the most goals out of any country footballer in WA this season with 65 majors in 12 GFL appearances to go with six in the Country Champs.
Plays like an under-sized key forward and has a great set of hands and the ability to win games off his own boot.
Sam Stubbs (Mines Rovers/Goldfields)
Another Goldfields forward with plenty of talent, Stubbs was one of the most exciting players in the WAFL only a few years ago and even had the opportunity to trial for a spot on Fremantle’s AFL list.
Was one of the Goldfields’ standouts in the Country Champs on the way to All-Star selection.
