Swan Districts midfielder Indiana West has been signed by the Fremantle Dockers for the 2025 NAB AFLW season.
The 19-year-old has received the call up from Fremantle following an injury to Holly Egan, who suffered an ACL injury in a pre-season match against the Eagles.
West, who is originally from Bunbury, is into her third season at Swan Districts and has become one of the side’s most athletic and damaging midfielders.
In 15 games this year, West has averaged 14 disposals a game and has kicked one goal for the season.
She has been a train-on at Cockburn this pre-season and has impressed during training and intraclub matches.
Coming from a pole-vaulting background, West produced strong numbers in the 2024 pre-season testing, recording impressive results for sprint and vertical jumping.
Max Chipper, WAFLW Operations boss at Swan Districts, is proud of West and the opportunity she has been given.
“As a club we are delighted for Indiana who has taken huge steps with her footy this year and has been a vital part of our midfield,” Chipper said.
‘We are sad to lose her but know that the Dockers have made a great selection.”
Fremantle will play Port Adelaide in Round 1 of the 2025 NAB AFLW Season, on Sunday 17 August, 2.10pm WST at Alberton Oval.
