Veteran Great Northern Football League umpire Brian Cohen officiated his milestone 300th game last Saturday at GBSC Sports Park in Geraldton.
Cohen umpired his first game back in 2008 and has gone on to umpiring three league grand finals and 20 league finals during his 18 years in the GNFL.
“I just enjoy the people I get to do it with every weekend,” Cohen told Geraldton Guardian ahead of hie milestone.
“I enjoy the camaraderie among the group of umpires we have.
“I never ended up playing for any clubs up here or anything, so I never had much interest on who wins which I guess is a bonus as an umpire.
“I have enjoyed being around all who have been involved in my time in the league, from field umpires to boundary umpires to player and staff.”
Cohen was the second 300-game milestone umpire in the GNFL this season after Steve Pratt who reached the feat in May.
