WAAAFA recognised at Telstra Best of Business AwardsTuesday, October 7, 2025 - 9:12 AM - by Jordan McArdle

The Western Australian All Abilities Football Association (WAAAFA) has been announced as the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Award Winner for WA in the Building Communities category.

In September, the WAAAFA was named a finalist in both the Building Communities and Outstanding Growth categories before going on to win the Building Communities Award for WA.

The WAAAFA was recognised for its leadership in creating inclusive opportunities for children and adults living with disability to both connect with their community and participate in Australian Rules Football.

The Western Australian All Abilities Football Association was established to promote and grow disability football in Western Australia.

Its core purpose is to provide the opportunity for people with a disability to be involved and participate in Australian rules football like every other Australian.

As WA’s leading organisation dedicated to inclusive football, WAAAFA works with local clubs, schools, government, businesses, and the wider football industry to create equitable access to the game while building confidence, participation, and long-term pathways in sport and beyond.

WAAAFA Executive Officer Hayden Marchetto said the award reflects the collective effort of the team and the communities involved across WA.

“This achievement is not just about us – it’s for every child or adult who was once told ‘sport isn’t for you’,” Marchetto said.

“Together, we are proving that sport is for everyone.”

WAAAFA will now represent the State at the National Telstra Best of Business Awards in Brisbane on 20 November 2025, where the national winners will be announced.

Telstra’s Best of Business Awards have celebrated exceptional small and medium businesses for more than 25 years, with more than 20,000 organisations nominated in 2025.
