We are seeking motivated, passionate, and driven Umpiring Programs Officers on an ongoing casual basis. Successful candidates will be appointed early 2026 with programs commencing in February.
Key Responsibilities:
The nature of the Umpiring Programs Officer role is diverse and works across multiple areas within umpiring in the WA Football Commission with the major aim to grow and promote umpiring participation. Duties are dependent on the appointed role and may include:
Community programs – weekday/weekend work
Plan, prepare and deliver umpiring programs in junior and senior football clubs
Plan, prepare and deliver Come and Try Clinics in the general community
School Clinics – weekday work
Plan, prepare and deliver Secondary School umpiring programs
Plan, prepare and deliver Come and Try Clinics in Secondary schools
Umpiring WA Programs – weekday/weekend work
Assist in delivery of Umpiring WA programs and workshops
Key Selection Criteria (Essential and Desirable):
Ability to lead and interact confidently with groups of participants and stakeholders (E)
Knowledge and experience in Australian Rules Football umpiring (E)
Demonstrated ability to innovate (E)
Demonstrated ability to operate under pressure situations whilst achieving outcomes (E)
A self-motivator, who achieves results autonomously or via teamwork (E)
Good customer relationships/ communications (E)
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills (E)
WWC Card or willingness to obtain (E)
National Police Clearance (E)
Drivers License and/or?reliable transport and willingness to travel (E)
Ability to work outside of normal working hours (E)
First Aid Certificate (E) or willingness to obtain
An?understanding of the WA Football structure and system (D)
Understanding of participation pathways in community sport (D)
Computer literacy (D)
