Wednesday, May 10, 2017 - 3:27 PM
Abolishing national transfer fees for State League competitions at the end of last season has had a limited impact on WAFL player movement this season. WAFL General Manager Steve Hargrave said that from a WA perspective, the limited impact on player movement reflected overall stability at a national level in relation to transfers between State Leagues. Round 8 – Perth v South Fremantle Match Report

Monday, May 8, 2017 - 11:51 AM - by Chris Pike
SOUTH Fremantle maintained its hold on top spot on the WAFL ladder with a fifth straight victory beating Perth by 60 points at Lathlain Park on Saturday. It was always going to be a big task for the one-win Perth to challenge a South Fremantle who has lost just once this season. The final scoreline of South Fremantle winning 22.14 (146) to 13.8 (86) suggests a comfortable win for the Bulldogs, but it doesn’t tell the full story of a competitive Demons effort who ensured South Fremantle had to work hard to beat them. Round 8 – East Fremantle v West Perth Match Report

Monday, May 8, 2017 - 10:21 AM - by Chris Pike
WEST Perth has continued its strong run of form winning a fourth consecutive match to improve to a 5-2 record beating the still winless East Fremantle by 35 points on Saturday at East Fremantle Oval. West Perth came into the clash at East Fremantle Oval on the back of a three-game winning streak since a 103-point loss to South Fremantle, so they had plenty of momentum up against the winless Sharks. But East Fremantle had been competitive and been in the contest the previous three weeks against Perth, Swan Districts and South Fremantle, and also had the added motivation with the 150th game of loyal servant Andrew Stephen to try and win for as he earned life membership of the club. Round 8 Preview - Perth v South Fremantle

Friday, May 5, 2017 - 3:05 PM - by Chris Pike
PERTH and South Fremantle might appear a mismatch on paper heading into Saturday's clash at Lathlain Park, but the Demons have shown strong competitiveness and improvement which they will look to continue. Perth and South Fremantle head into Saturday's contest with contrasting records with the Demons sitting at 1-5 and the Bulldogs 5-1. Friday, May 5, 2017 - 2:31 PM - by Chris Pike
East Fremantle has extra incentive to try and win its first game of the season this Saturday at home to West Perth, but toppling a Falcons team on a three-game appears a big ask. The Sharks remain the only winless team in the WAFL after seven rounds heading into Saturday's clash with West Perth at East Fremantle Oval. Not only will East Fremantle want to win to get on the board in 2017, but to also celebrate the 150th game of Lynn Medallist and four-time state representative Andrew Stephen as he earns life membership at the Sharks.
