Subiaco enter the clash having won seven straight matches while East Fremantle has lost its opening seven games of the 2017 season. WITH South Fremantle looking to maintain pace with Subiaco at the top of the WAFL ladder and East Perth out to continue its winning form, Saturday's clash at Fremantle Community Bank Oval looms as a beauty. South Fremantle might have given up top spot on the WAFL ladder with a 39-point loss to Subiaco last Saturday, but it has still been a strong start to the 2017 season for the Bulldogs. Round 10 Preview - Perth v Peel Thunder

SATURDAY'S clash at Lathlain Park between Perth and Peel Thunder shapes as an intriguing one with the Demons looking for consecutive wins and the reigning premiers out to make it three straight heading into the state game break. Perth might have won just two games so far in 2017, but the Demons have shown vast improvement on last season in terms of their competitiveness and that shone through in a last gasp win over Claremont last Saturday. First game against Falcons huge for Harris and Tigers

THE time has now come for West Perth legend Darren Harris to coach against the Falcons for the first time but the first-year Claremont boss has his sole focus on getting a win for the Tigers on his return to HBF Arena. Harris will always be a legend of the West Perth Football Club as a premiership captain, Simpson Medal winner and premiership coach. He left West Perth at the end of the 2005 season to join West Coast as an assistant coach but he always envisioned himself returning to the Falcons one day. Read More ...

WAFL Round 10 teams and previews

THERE are four crucial Round 10 WAFL matches on Saturday and with all teams desperate for the four points and with it the last chance to impress ahead of the state game, there's plenty at stake. Saturday's action is the last round of the WAFL season before next Saturday's state game against the VFL at Melbourne's North Port Oval. All four Round 10 matches take place on Saturday afternoon beginning with the league-leading Subiaco hosting the winless East Fremantle at Leederville Oval. Round 9 Reserves and Colts Wrap

SOUTH Fremantle soared further clear on top of the WAFL Reserves after an 11-goal third quarter on Saturday while East Fremantle also opened a gap on top of the REDiMED Colts following a draw between Peel Thunder and Swan Districts. The Round 9 reserves results on Saturday saw East Fremantle beat East Perth 11.12 (78) to 10.12 (72) at East Fremantle Oval, Swan Districts defeat Peel Thunder 23.12 (150) to 3.7 (25) at Bendigo Bank Stadium, Claremont down Perth 15.14 (104) to 12.5 (77) at Fremantle Community Bank Oval and South Fremantle prevail over Subiaco 18.9 (117) to 14.4 (88) at Leederville Oval. South Fremantle remains clear on top of the reserves ladder with a 7-1 record ahead of Claremont (5-3), Perth (5-3), East Fremantle (4-3) and Swan Districts (3-5). Read More ...

Mundella WA 18s set for Championships

A squad of 35 players will represent Western Australia in the opening two games of the NAB AFLW 18s National Championships in Sydney this weekend. WA plays off against NSW/ACT at Sydney's Blacktown International Sports Park on Saturday and take on Queensland the following day. The players, selected from the Mundella WA Women’s Football League, have undertaken an intensive training program in the lead-up to the games. This included a trial match against the Mundella State U23 Women’s team as a curtain-raiser to the West Coast Eagles v Western Bulldogs AFL game at Domain Stadium on May 12. Read More ...

SUBIACO made a statement on Saturday to move clear on top of the WAFL ladder while East Perth signalled its resurgence, Peel Thunder made it two straight and Perth scored a confidence-boosting win as part of Round 9. All four Round 9 matches took place on Saturday afternoon with the top-of-the-table clash between Subiaco and South Fremantle at Leederville Oval the headline act. It proved a dominant display from the Lions in captain Kyal Horsley's 150th game as they led by 63 points at one stage before going on to beat the Bulldogs 19.13 (127) to 14.4 (88) for a seventh straight win. WAFL 'Know Your Score' Men's Health Round

The West Australian Football Commission has joined forces with Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia to host the West Australia Football League’s (WAFL) Know Your Score Men’s Health Round this weekend.   For the fourth year, the Know Your Score Men’s Health Round initiative will see players from across the state don blue armbands to honour the men in WA who have lost their lives to prostate cancer.   All four WAFL games held this Saturday will aim to raise awareness of prostate cancer and encourage men to be more proactive about their health by talking to their doctor. Round 9 – Subiaco v South Fremantle Match Report

SUBIACO has won a seventh straight match, earned revenge for Round 1, celebrated captain Kyal Horsley's 150th game and gone clear on top of the WAFL ladder after beating South Fremantle by 39 points at Leederville Oval on Saturday. The game loomed as the clash of the WAFL season to date with both teams entering on 6-1 records with South Fremantle sitting top with the superior percentage and on a five-game winning run with Subiaco having won its last six. The Bulldogs did beat the Lions by 39 points back in Round 1 at Fremantle Community Bank Oval, but the Lions got a measure of revenge on Saturday winning by the exact same margin. Read More ...


Round 9 – Claremont v Perth Match Report

CLAREMONT and Perth entered Saturday's clash at Fremantle Community Bank Oval desperate to stop losing slides and it turned out to be a remarkable finish that saw the Demons claim the eight-point victory. The game was played on neutral turf at the port once again with Claremont Oval still unavailable to host Claremont home games with the redevelop now nearing completion, and it turned out to be a terrific contest between two desperate teams.
