WAFL State Academy coaches appointed

The West Australian Football Commission has appointed Andrew Lockyer as WAFL State 18s coach and reappointed John Hancock as WAFL State 16s coach for the 2015 NAB AFL National Championships. WAFL Talent Manager Raff Guadagnino said the selection panel including AFL National Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan, Fremantle Football Club State Recruiting Manager Neil Ross, WAFC Commissioner Neil Randall and WAFC General Manager Pathways and Competitions Steve Hargrave were delighted with the quality of the coaching candidates. WA Football Commission nominees endorsed

The nominees for Commissioners of the West Australian Football Commission were endorsed on Monday, November 24, at a meeting of the Nominee Members of the WAFC (WA AFL and WAFL Clubs). Commissioners Brett Fullarton and Larry Kickett were both reappointed for terms of three years and Grant Dorrington was appointed for his first term of three years to replace outgoing Commissioner Peter Coleman, who retires on 31 December 2014. Lions District launches new program for Aboriginal youth

The Lions District has announced the launch of an exciting new football engagement and transition program called the Moorditj Lions, targeting disengaged Aboriginal youth between 11-15 years living within the Lions District. Irish Festival at Patersons Stadium

Shimmon leaves an indelible mark

Ever since 17-year-old Todd Shimmon donned the No. 19 jumper and booted three goals in his first appearance in the Claremont colts side, against South Fremantle at Claremont Oval in 1982, has he been a dedicated and passionate Tiger. He has been a wonderful stalwart of the club in a variety of roles for 27 years and now all at Claremont bid him a fond farewell and wish him all the best in his move to East Fremantle as the chief executive officer of the Sharks.
