Sunday Round 19 McDonald's WAFL Results

Monday, August 3, 2015 - 6:03 AM - by Chris Pike
EAST Perth has consolidated its spot in the top five after teenager Tom Lamb kicked the match-winning goal against West Perth with the Royals winning a thriller by four points at Medibank Stadium. East Perth was on top of the contest for most of the afternoon and still led by 25 points early in the last quarter, but West Perth has made a habit of delivering stunning comebacks this season and delivered another. The Falcons kicked the next three goals and that saw them hit the front when Michael Lourey booted his third of the day at the 22-minute mark, but the Royals continued to find a way to regain the lead they held for most of the game. Eventually it was 18-year-old first-year West Coast draftee Lamb who came out to mark strongly, and kick truly for his fourth of the match as East Perth beat West Perth 10.12 (72) to 9.14 (68). Ashton Hams earns life membership with 150 games at Bulldogs

Friday, July 31, 2015 - 2:05 AM - by Chris Pike
SOUTH Fremantle coach Todd Curley believes Ashton Hams' ultra-competitiveness is the reason why he continues to be a standout WAFL player ahead of his 150th game on Saturday while Haiden Schloithe is just proud to be playing alongside someone who once was his babysitter. Curley has enjoyed his chance to coach Ashton Hams this season ahead of his 150th game and wouldn’t be surprised to see him add to his individual accolades, but for now the focus for the Bulldogs is on plotting the downfall of Subiaco. Hams will add another notch to an already remarkably decorated career this Saturday at Medibank Stadium when South Fremantle enters the clash needing to beat the rampant league-leading reigning premiers Subiaco to remain in the race to play finals for the first time since 2011. Black adds another early milestone but far from content

Friday, July 24, 2015 - 3:41 PM - by Chris Pike
HAVING already played in a premiership, played State football and won a Sandover Medal, Aaron Black has crammed a career full of achievements into his first 99 games, but the West Perth midfielder is far from content as he prepares for his 100th match at just 22 years of age. Black made his debut back in Round 16, 2010 and has come a long way from the small, tagging midfielder on that cold and wet night at Fremantle Oval as he played in a heavy West Perth defeat. He has barely missed a match ever since making his debut as a 17-year-old and now ever since has put together a remarkable career that he deserves a lot of credit for with the hard work and dedication he has put in to continue improve his football in all areas.
