The WAFC Youth Girls Rogers Cup Grand Final and WAWFL Reserves and League Grand Finals  will be played at Atom Stadium, East Fremantle this weekend and streamed live online. The League game at 2.30pm will see a re-match of the 2014 WAWFL Grand Final, where Swans snatched victory in the dying seconds of the game to win back-to back premierships. AFTER 218 games at Perth and Peel, Brendon Jones had every right to think he would never get the chance to play in a WAFL final but that will now all change this Sunday for the Thunder captain against West Perth at HBF Arena. Ever since making his league debut at Perth in 2004, Jones has been one of the best, hardest working and most consistent midfielders in the competition and he's won three fairest and best awards along the way, but what he has been craving desperately is finals success. WITH Peel Thunder beating South Fremantle to lock in third position and keep East Perth fourth, the only match with anything riding on the result on Saturday in the final round of the WAFL season featured West Perth and Claremont at HBF Arena. Claremont needed to win to make the finals and to knock out Swan Districts from fifth position with Swans having the bye, but West Perth had not lost at home so far in 2015 and led by 25 points at the 10-minute mark of the final quarter. However, the Tigers then kicked the last four goals of the game to win 9.15 (69) to 10.7 (67) to move into fifth position and end the season of Swan Districts in dramatic fashion. Dates have been confirmed for the 2015 McDonald’s WAFL Finals series, with all games including the Grand Final to be played on Sundays. The higher finishing teams will host their respective finals in the first three weeks and the Grand Final will be played at Domain Stadium on Sunday, September 27. AS fate would have it, the only game in the last WAFL round on Saturday to impact finals positions turned out to be the heart stopper and it was Claremont who kicked the last four goals against West Perth to storm home to win and book a place in the finals. That shattered the hopes of Swan Districts who had beaten Claremont last week to move into fifth position, and the black-and-whites would have played finals if West Perth beat the Tigers again at HBF Arena on Saturday. West Perth had won all nine of its games at home so far this season and led Claremont by 24 points at the nine-minute mark of the last quarter, but the Tigers then booted the last four goals of the contest to win 9.15 (69) to 10.7 (67). ROUND 23 of the WAFL season sees Claremont fighting for its place in the finals needing to beat West Perth to replace Swan Districts in the top five while Peel Thunder also needs to defeat South Fremantle to consolidate third position and a finals double chance. All focus will be on HBF Arena with Swan Districts having the bye and needing West Perth to beat Claremont to remain in the finals, while the only way the Tigers can replace Swans in fifth position is by handing the Falcons their first defeat at home this season. Peel Thunder can then guarantee third position and a finals double chance with a win over South Fremantle at Bendigo Bank Stadium. EAST Fremantle's season might have not gone to plan, but the Sharks will now look to finish on a positive note at ATOM Stadium on Saturday against Perth with captain Rory O'Brien celebrating his 200th WAFL game. East Fremantle might be heading into the clash with the wooden spoon bound Demons on a 12-game losing streak, but their skipper is one player who can hold his head high for the way he has continued to try and lead the Sharks from the front all season long. O'Brien could very well be on his way to winning another fairest and best award with East Fremantle that would give him four in five years at the Sharks after he moved from Peel Thunder where he also claimed two fairest and best awards during his 92-game career. IAN Richardson adds another terrific achievement to a growing list of accolades at Claremont this Saturday, but it all takes a back seat to the Tigers needing to beat West Perth at HBF Arena in order to play finals. Richardson will play his 150th game with Claremont to earn life membership at the club he will forever be remembered as one of the most decorated players having starred in two premierships, won a fairest and best award, been leading goalkicker two times, representing Western Australia on six occasions and winning a Simpson Medal. WHILE there was some drama and some terrific performances across the other three WAFL Round 22 matches on Saturday, the result that really mattered was at Steel Blue Oval with Swan Districts finishing over the top of Claremont to take fifth position on the ladder. Swan Districts had to beat Claremont at Steel Blue Oval in order to have any chance of playing finals in 2015, and that's what the black-and-whites did kicking the last five goals against the Tigers to win 9.14 (68) to 7.15 (57). Swan Districts will now play finals unless Claremont is able to beat West Perth at HBF Arena this Saturday. The other three matches saw West Perth beat South Fremantle 12.13 (85) to 9.8 (62) at Fremantle Oval, Subiaco hammer East Fremantle 16.17 (113) to 5.6 (36) at Medibank Stadium and Peel Thunder defeat Perth 14.16 (100) to 13.9 (87) at Lathlain Park.
